Job description

AMD is seeking a Senior Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves leading ASIC development and working with cross-functional teams to address complex engineering challenges. Candidates will utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and engineering principles to contribute to the design and testing of AMD products. This position offers multiple openings and does not require travel.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • One year of experience as a Verification Engineer or in a similar engineering occupation.
  • Experience in C, C++, or Python.
  • Familiarity with Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL.
  • Knowledge of design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.
  • Experience with ASIC design and tools including synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, and static timing analysis.
  • Proficiency in Unix or Linux environments.
  • Experience in RTL design and coding.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Lead the definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
  • Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
  • Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop ASIC/layout design and address complex issues.
  • Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance.
  • Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
