The MTS Silicon Design Engineer at AMD will collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to verify new features. This role focuses on building test plan documentation and debugging test failures to identify root causes. The engineer will also plan and implement RTL features for AMD Instinct products, aiming to reduce test and debug costs while increasing silicon yield. This position is essential for contributing to the advancement of high-performance computing and AI technologies.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Three years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Experience in IP level ASIC verification.
- Experience debugging firmware and RTL code using simulation tools.
- Proficiency in Verilog, System Verilog, C, and C++.
- Experience automating workflows in a distributed compute environment.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby, Makefile, or shell.
- Experience with Siemens Tessent tool for scan insertion and iJTAG.
- Experience with MBIST using Siemens or Synopsys SMS.
- Knowledge of scan insertion, ATPG, iJTAG, clock distribution, voltage, and power aware topology planning.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand new features to be verified.
- Build test plan documentation that accounts for interactions with other features, hardware, firmware, and software driver use cases.
- Estimate the time required to write new feature tests and any necessary changes to the test environment.
- Debug test failures to determine the root cause and work with RTL and firmware engineers to resolve design defects.
- Plan and implement RTL features for the product lifecycle of AMD Instinct products.
- Reduce overall test and debug costs and increase the overall yield of silicon.
