AMD is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) Silicon Design Engineer to contribute to the research, design, development, and testing of electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves leading ASIC development, determining architecture design, and evaluating process flows. The engineer will work with cross-functional teams to address significant technical challenges and drive projects of importance. This position requires a strong background in electronic theory and engineering principles.

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in VLSI and Microelectronics, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Four years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in the same fields and six years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience.

• Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
• Lead definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
• Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
• Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
• Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits.
• Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop ASIC/layout design.
• Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance.
• Exercise independent judgment to select methods and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
