Job description

AMD is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join Xilinx, Inc., focusing on the research, design, development, and testing of operating systems-level software and compilers for semiconductor operations. The role emphasizes applying principles of computer science and electronic engineering to develop software for electronic device hardware. The engineer will work on complex problems and utilize their knowledge of engineering principles and best practices. This position offers multiple openings and does not require travel.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Two years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role is required.
  • Experience with post-silicon platforms is required.
  • Experience in OS kernel and systems development is required.
  • Knowledge of memory management and multi-threading is required.
  • Experience with low-level device drivers is required.
  • Familiarity with x86-64 architecture is required.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software and compilers for semiconductor operations.
  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug computer software for electronic device hardware.
  • Develop software and tools in support of electronic design, infrastructure, and technology platforms.
  • Determine hardware compatibility and influence hardware design.
