AMD is seeking a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) Software Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software and compilers for semiconductor operations. The role focuses on enhancing software programs and developing tools for various technology platforms, including cloud-based solutions. • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Two years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent with five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
• Two years of experience with CUDA, Linux and Windows internals, deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow or PyTorch), C, C++, or Python, software debugging in macOS, Linux, or Unix, and Git and Github.
• One year of experience in low-level GPU kernel optimization and performance profiling and optimization tools.

• Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software and compilers.
• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products.
• Develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure, and technology platforms.
• Profile and analyze system and application performance to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
• Design and implement strategies for distributed model training and inference across multiple GPUs and nodes.
• Participate in code reviews, create unit tests, and author detailed documentation.
• Work with on-site and offshore teams to deliver software solutions on schedule.
