Job description
The Silicon Design Engineer position at Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, focuses on researching, designing, developing, and testing electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves applying knowledge of electronic theory and engineering principles to contribute to ASIC development and multidimensional designs. Candidates will work on architecture design, logic design, and system simulation while evaluating the entire process flow from design to implementation. This position offers multiple openings and does not require prior experience.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in logic and circuit design.
- Knowledge of CMOS transistor design.
- Familiarity with SOC or system architecture.
- Proficiency in RTL design and coding.
- Experience with Verilog or VHDL.
- Understanding of functional verification of microprocessors.
- Knowledge of ASIC design tools including synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, and static timing analysis.
- Experience with back-end (physical design) EDA tools.
- Familiarity with Unix or Linux environments.
- Knowledge of physical design (PD) process.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
- Understanding of machine learning.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
- Perform definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
- Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
- Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
- Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits.
- Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
- Work on problems of moderate scope requiring analysis of various factors.
- Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment.
- Apply engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of company products.
