Job description

AMD is seeking a Senior Silicon Design Engineer to contribute to the research, design, development, and testing of electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. This role involves overseeing ASIC development, determining architecture and logic design, and contributing to complex integrated circuit layouts. The ideal candidate will utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and engineering principles to enhance AMD's product offerings. This position offers multiple openings and does not require travel.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Experience in logic and circuit design.
  • Experience in CMOS transistor design.
  • Experience in ASIC design.
  • Experience in physical design of deep submicron digital ASIC chips.
  • Experience in large-scale ASIC chip physical design.
  • Familiarity with ASIC design tools including synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, and static timing analysis.
  • Experience with Back-End (physical design) EDA tools.
  • Proficiency in Verilog.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Oversee definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
  • Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
  • Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Work in an area of specialization to develop ASIC/layout design.
  • Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of AMD products.
