Job description

AMD is seeking a Senior Silicon Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves utilizing knowledge of electronic theory to perform ASIC development tasks, including architecture design and system simulation. The engineer will work on complex integrated circuits and evaluate the entire process flow from design to implementation. This position is crucial for advancing AMD's technology in high-performance computing and AI.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • One year of experience as a Design Engineer or in a related engineering occupation.
  • Experience in VLSI and IC design.
  • Familiarity with RTL microarchitecture, logic and circuit design, and GPU, CPU, or SoC architecture.
  • Proficiency in Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL.
  • Experience with ASIC design and tools, including synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, and static timing analysis.
  • Ability to develop scripts in Python or Perl.
  • Knowledge of EDA and CAD tools, as well as Unix or Linux environments.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Perform definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
  • Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
  • Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment.
  • Apply engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of AMD products.
