AMD is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) Systems Design Engineer to contribute to the research, design, development, and testing of electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves defining processes for technical platforms and system specifications while addressing system design weaknesses. The engineer will provide technical expertise for next-generation initiatives and evaluate the entire process flow from design to implementation. This position offers the opportunity to influence future products and drive significant technical projects.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- Four years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a related field and six years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
- Experience in enterprise/data center server systems foundations.
- Experience with server system memory, storage hierarchy, processors, networking, and memory.
- Experience in system tuning (hardware/software) and performance analysis.
- Experience with Linux, VMware, and Windows operating system deployment and optimization.
- Experience in system test plan development and execution.
- Proficiency in Python.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
- Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, and compatibility parameters.
- Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses.
