AMD is seeking an MTS Hardware Development Engineer to join their engineering team focused on thermal solutions for rack mount servers. The role involves optimizing thermal performance and troubleshooting airflow issues in both new and existing product lines. Candidates will utilize simulation tools and empirical data to enhance server designs and ensure reliability. Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Three years of experience in the job offered or in a closely related engineering role.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a closely related engineering role.
- Experience in complete thermal design and validation cycle of HPC, AI, and storage servers.
- Experience in conducting system-level thermal simulations and defining thermal test plans.
Responsibilities
- Support the engineering team by loading, testing, and validating thermal solutions for rack mount servers.
- Recommend design changes and optimize configurations based on testing results.
- Troubleshoot thermal and airflow issues in new and existing product lines.
- Work with the engineering team to optimize thermal performance using empirical data and bench test methods.
- Produce thermal reports from experimental data and test/modeling benchmarks.
- Develop CFD and thermal simulation methods and integrate them into existing engineering processes.
