Job description

AMD is seeking an MTS Silicon Design Engineer to contribute to the research, design, development, and testing of electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves collaboration with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to verify new features. The engineer will also be responsible for building test plans, debugging test failures, and ensuring coverage requirements are met. This position plays a crucial role in driving significant technical projects and applying engineering principles to various AMD products.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
  • Three years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in the same fields and five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand new features.
  • Build test plan documentation and estimate time required for new feature tests.
  • Build directed and random verification tests and debug test failures.
  • Review functional and code coverage metrics and modify tests to meet coverage requirements.
  • Drive projects of significant technical importance and exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques.
