The mechanical engineer will be part of Qualcomm's global mechanical engineering team, focusing on the design of electro-mechanical enclosures for various applications including server platforms and consumer devices. This role involves detailed design work, thermal simulations, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams. The engineer will also interface with vendors and manufacturing partners to ensure manufacturability and timely project execution. The position requires working onsite in San Diego, CA, a minimum of five days a week.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college
• 1+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as CREO or equivalent
• Working knowledge of mechanical documentation, tolerancing, and GD&T
• Strong understanding of mechanical design in the electronics industry

• Design and develop detailed electro-mechanical test fixtures and development platforms
• Create detailed mechanical designs, including 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings
• Coordinate and source prototype and production components including plastic, sheet metal, and CNC machined parts
• Interface with vendors and manufacturing partners to ensure design for manufacturability
• Develop effective thermal, structural, and tolerance analyses of mechanical assemblies
