Job description
The Highway Design Engineer position at Jacobs focuses on designing roadways and highways, utilizing civil design calculations and modeling. The role involves researching various design options and providing project cost estimates while ensuring quality and adherence to schedules and budgets. The engineer will interact with clients and contractors, using design tools such as AutoCAD Civil3D and MicroStation. This position allows for a hybrid work schedule and requires minimal travel to project sites.
Requirements
- A Master's Degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with 3 years of work experience as a Highway Engineer may be accepted.
- An E.I.T (Engineer In Training) Certificate or progress towards obtaining it within 6 months of hire is necessary.
- A G.I.S. (Geographic Information Systems) Certificate is preferred.
- Knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation, and Open Roads Designer is essential.
