Job description
As a Structural Engineer in Jacobs' Northwest Ports and Maritime Group, you will work with a global team on waterfront and transportation projects. This role involves leading and mentoring staff engineers while performing design, analysis, and project delivery. You will engage in both rehabilitation and new marine structure projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes. Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer License or the ability to obtain one within one year.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as AASHTO, ASCE, AISC, ACI, IBS, NDS, and PIANC.
- Expertise in finite element analysis software like SAP2000, RISA3D, STAAD, or LPile.
- Experience in preparation of project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of marine structures, such as piers, wharves, docks, and seawalls.
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to evaluate the condition of existing marine structures.
- Lead the preparation of project proposals, material take-offs, and engineer's cost estimates.
