Job description

This internship position is for students pursuing degrees in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related fields. Interns will work with teams focused on design development and structural engineering for high-tech facilities. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders and supporting the execution of design processes and construction projects. Interns will gain hands-on experience while contributing to the team's sustainability efforts.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
  • Previous internship and project experience is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and through drawings/sketches
  • For Architecture interns: Working knowledge of US building codes
  • For Architecture interns: Proficient in Revit and familiar with AutoCAD
  • For Structural interns: Fundamentals of Engineer (FE) Test taken/passed
  • For Structural interns: Experience with Revit, Revit Structural, RISA 3D, RAM or ETABs
  • For Structural interns: Primary structural coursework completed prior to start of internship

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the design development process from test fit to concept design.
  • Manage survey and due diligence with external consultants.
  • Coordinate technical and business needs from stakeholders into concept drawings.
  • Support prototype updates and block development as needed.
  • Review construction documents and shop drawings.
  • Support the design and construction of new and renovated industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities.
  • Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures.
  • Create justifying structural calculations and make technical assumptions.
  • Complete field work independently or with the design team.
  • Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules in Revit.
