Tesla is looking for a motivated Scientist to join their team, focusing on the chemical analysis of battery raw materials. This role is essential for ensuring the quality and performance of Tesla's battery cells. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in a chemistry lab and be proficient in various analytical techniques. The position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in chemical and materials analysis.
• Strong understanding of laboratory operations and safety protocols.
• Experience in battery manufacturing and testing of cells and raw materials is highly preferred.
• Ability to quickly learn Tesla’s in-house chemical analysis methods and operate specialized equipment.
• High attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experienced with laboratory information management systems.

• Perform routine and advanced testing on cell components, analyzing chemical properties of raw materials.
• Prepare samples for advanced characterization techniques such as SEM, ICP, GC, and IC.
• Conduct visual inspections using microscopes and measure particle size distribution and moisture content.
• Perform electrical measurements, prepare solutions for reaction setup, and manage waste handling.
• Lead instrument installation, calibration, method development, and test validation for analytical methods.
• Interpret complex chemical data, create detailed reports, and provide insights for quality operations.
• Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and manage inventory.
