Job description
Tesla is seeking a Senior Logistics Analyst to join their supply chain team, focusing on the Vehicle Service distribution center. The role involves leading a logistics team, ensuring efficient material flow, and enhancing customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach while working in a fast-paced environment. This position requires effective coordination with carriers and internal teams to drive operational excellence.
Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Logistics or transportation, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership position
- Knowledge of ERP systems and TMS, with the ability to identify gaps and optimize processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for operational decision-making
- Knowledge of freight forwarding terms, standards Incoterms, and Dangerous Goods
- Knowledge of SQL and Tableau is preferred
- Proven record of implementing process improvement initiatives
Responsibilities
- Lead a local logistics team supporting the Regional Distribution Center for Service network and train teams on best practices.
- Coordinate and direct milk runs with internal drivers and external fleets, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Act as a hands-on leader in critical situations, managing urgent shipments and tracking route efficiency.
- Monitor the fleet and assign pick-ups based on driver locations to improve cost and resource efficiency.
- Maintain close communication with carriers, report incidents, and track KPIs during OIL calls.
- Define key performance indicators to track operational performance using data mining and analysis.
- Negotiate spot and transactional business with carriers and collaborate with procurement on RFQ/RFP processes.
