Job description
The Data Analyst role at Tesla focuses on leveraging data-driven insights to enhance the Recruiting and People strategy. The position is part of the People Analytics team, which plays a crucial role in understanding hiring trends and their impact on the organization. The analyst will create reporting models, contribute to data tool development, and collaborate with engineers for system improvements. This role also emphasizes effective communication of data analysis to non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent experience
- Previous experience working with Recruiting or People teams, or in-depth knowledge of the full-cycle recruiting process
- Prior relational database experience
- Proficiency in SQL and other common query languages
- Understanding of CI/CD workflows and automated testing
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Critical thinking and a first principles approach to problem solving
Responsibilities
- Apply a product-centric approach to data and reporting, ensuring discoverability through user-friendly documentation and trustworthiness with rigorous data tests
- Design, build, and maintain data models to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility for analysis
- Collect, analyze, and present data from the system when provided a subset of potentially unrelated data points/filters to draw conclusions
- Effectively communicate data analysis to non-technical audiences unfamiliar with the domain
- Recognize patterns to define gaps in upstream systems and drive change to close these gaps with responsible parties
- Ensure successful integration with downstream systems and accurate reporting to stakeholders
