Job description
Join Tesla's Manufacturing Test and Engineering software team to develop software for in-house designed test equipment that ensures product functionality. This role involves collaboration with various engineering disciplines and teams to launch and ramp up Tesla products. You will be responsible for writing software that communicates with hardware devices and optimizing test equipment for maintainability and performance. Your contributions will help accelerate the transition to sustainable energy while delighting customers worldwide.
Requirements
- Fluency in at least one object-oriented programming language.
- Familiarity with hardware connection protocols such as CAN, UDS, gRPC, Modbus/TCP, TCP/IP, and OPCUA.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or with physical hardware devices.
- Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with devops and CI/CD tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, and GitHub actions.
- Familiarity with data pipeline and data visualization tools such as Telegraf, Kafka, and Grafana.
- Familiarity with cloud development tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and Vault.
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a fast-paced environment to solve complex problems creatively.
- Play a key role in all aspects of product design and validation beyond software development.
- Write software in Go, LabVIEW, and/or Python to validate Tesla products on a manufacturing line.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to design test equipment that validates product functionality.
- Develop software that enables test equipment to be easily maintainable by production teams.
- Drive continuous improvements to your software and advance the software tech stack.
- Travel to different facilities across the US and the world to deploy your work.
