Production Engineers at Meta are specialized software engineers responsible for developing the infrastructure that supports all of Meta's products and services. They ensure that services are reliable and performant, impacting over 2 billion users worldwide. PEs work across various teams, from product development to critical backend services, contributing to systems used by millions daily. This role involves solving complex problems in live production and optimizing code for quality and performance.

• 2+ years of experience in \*nix (Linux or another UNIX-like OS) and Network fundamentals.
• 2+ years of coding experience in an industry-standard language such as Java, Python, C++, PHP/Hack, Rust, or Go.
• Experience learning software, frameworks, and APIs.
• Experience with Internet service architecture capacity planning and/or handling needs for urgent capacity augmentation.
• Knowledge of common web technologies and/or Internet service architectures such as LAMP or MEAN stacks, CDN, and Load Balancing techniques.
• Experience configuring and running infrastructure level applications, such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and MySQL.
• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Own back-end services which handle fleet management and front-end services such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Meta Ads.
• Write and review code, leverage best-in-industry AI tools to land and productionize code, and develop documentation and capacity plans.
• Debug the hardest problems live on some of the largest and most complex systems in the world.
• Share an on-call rotation with your engineering team and be an escalation contact for service incidents.
• Analyze and optimize code for quality, scalability, efficiency, and performance.
• Establish ownership of systems with expert end-to-end understanding.
