Tesla's Castings controls team is seeking a skilled controls engineer to support Cyber Cab production. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial automation, particularly with Siemens PLC systems and integration with robotics and vision systems. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams in a high-volume casting environment. The successful candidate will also need to be adaptable to work any shift to meet production demands.

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• 4+ years of extensive experience with industrial equipment controls, interfaces, and communication protocols.
• Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming, troubleshooting, and configuration, specifically TIA Portal.
• Experience with Idra die cast equipment is highly desired.
• Strong industrial electrical background with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Develop programming standards for PLC and automated systems using Siemens TIA Portal.
• Act as shop lead for controls projects and installations on production equipment.
• Support the maintenance team in troubleshooting difficult breakdowns and chronic equipment failures.
• Act as shop liaison for MES development and implementation.
• Instruct and manage supplier and equipment buyoffs while conducting risk assessments.
• Perform HMI programming and system development, integrating and supporting vision systems.
