Job description
The Manufacturing Test and Engineering software team at Tesla is seeking a software developer to create software for in-house designed test equipment. This role involves ensuring the functionality of Tesla's products through collaboration with various engineering disciplines and manufacturing teams. The successful candidate will contribute to product design and validation while utilizing programming languages such as Go, LabVIEW, and Python. This position also requires travel to different facilities to deploy software solutions.
Requirements
- Fluency in at least one object-oriented programming language.
- Familiarity with hardware connection protocols such as CAN, UDS, gRPC, Modbus/TCP, TCP/IP, and OPCUA.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or with physical hardware devices.
- Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with devops and CI/CD tools including Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, and GitHub actions.
- Familiarity with data pipeline and data visualization tools such as Telegraf, Kafka, and Grafana.
- Familiarity with cloud development tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and Vault.
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a fast-paced environment to solve complex problems creatively.
- Play a key role in all aspects of product design and validation.
- Write software in Go, LabVIEW, and/or Python to validate Tesla products on a manufacturing line.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to design test equipment that validates product functionality.
- Develop maintainable software for test equipment to support 24/7 production teams.
- Drive continuous improvements to the software.
- Travel to different facilities across the US and the world to deploy software solutions.
