Job description
The Process Engineer will focus on process sustaining and continuous improvement for Tesla's energy storage production line. This role requires strong collaboration with various engineering teams and production operators to enhance manufacturing processes using lean principles. The engineer will troubleshoot test failures and develop rework processes while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. A detail-oriented and self-motivated approach is essential for success in this position.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability and risk elimination
- Background in Automated Systems is preferable
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn systems quickly
- Good understanding of Bill of Materials and Manufacturing Execution Systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in manufacturing processes and analyze critical data
- Conduct root cause analysis and mitigate failure modes
- Optimize production processes to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness
- Lead continuous improvement activities to enhance safety, quality, and cost
- Document and troubleshoot non-conforming material activities
- Utilize structured problem-solving techniques to diagnose manufacturing issues
- Monitor and reduce process variation using Statistical Process Control
- Create and maintain Manufacturing Instructions and train technicians
- Support 24 by 7 production operations
