The Test Engineer, Self-Driving position focuses on the development and testing of Full-Self-Driving technology at Tesla. This role is critical as the company approaches the productionization of Robotaxi services. The engineer will be responsible for generating test strategies, performing vehicle testing, and collaborating with developers to enhance safety and performance. The position requires flexibility for travel and a strong background in vehicle testing and data analysis.

• Proficiency with Python, C/C++, and/or MATLAB
• Experience with software and hardware troubleshooting, ADAS testing, and vehicle road testing
• Outstanding attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to interpret regulations and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Valid driver's license and comfort driving prototype vehicles during testing
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent experience

• Generate new test strategies to evaluate Full Self Driving
• Perform controlled vehicle testing across global proving grounds using precision instrumentation
• Develop test fixtures and software tooling for efficient data collection and analysis
• Use in-house simulation infrastructure to expand test coverage
• Analyze issues found during testing and partner with developers to implement resolutions
• Perform testing for existing and upcoming regulatory and ratings protocols
• Maintain test vehicles, coordinate logistics, and support additional vehicle testing as needed
