Job description
This role focuses on specializing in public and private cellular technologies within enterprise, retail, and manufacturing environments. The engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting LTE/5G Radio Access and Core networks. Compliance with established system architecture, regulations, and security policies is essential. The position also involves managing deployments and ensuring effective communication with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in LTE/5G/CBRS Radio Access Network
- Experience with indoor/DAS/Small cells implementation and understanding of CBRS band dependencies
- Experience with IP networking, L2/L3 network protocols, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, QOS, and NAT
- Experience managing vendors and suppliers, along with low voltage cabling and fiber termination
- Experience with design tools such as Atoll, Planet Mentum, ASSET, or iBwave
- Extensive experience with RF principles and cellular RF tools
- Experience with private wireless client development and POC
- Experience with enterprise wireless solutions
- Experience developing scripts to automate infrastructure deployment and collect metrics
- Experience with private cellular network vendors is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support LTE/5G Radio Access and Core networks
- Perform onsite surveys and RF propagation modeling
- Plan system capacity and performance to scale
- Monitor, analyze, and report metrics of wireless solutions
- Troubleshoot network problems related to latency, client connectivity, and mobility
- Manage the end-to-end deployment and coordinate with cross-functional teams
- Manage site alarms and software upgrades for Baseband and core nodes
- Conduct post-upgrade validation
- Be available to work occasional weekends, after hours, and holidays
- Travel up to 15% as necessary
