Meta's Fundamental AI Research lab is looking for a Research Scientist focused on advancing physical AI capabilities. The role involves conducting foundational research to generate advanced engineering designs, including robotic hardware and vehicles. Candidates will engage in software research engineering, particularly in large-scale data manipulation and simulator integration. This position offers the opportunity to explore various engineering disciplines and their intersection with AI technologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
• Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, which must be completed prior to joining Meta.
• Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence, Physical AI, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a relevant technical field, which must be completed prior to joining Meta.
• Research experience in at least one of the following areas: physical AI, simulation, reinforcement learning, representation learning, self-supervised learning, multimodal learning, robotics policy development, computer vision, egocentric perception, embodied AI, control theory, or optimization algorithms.
• Experience in C/C++ and Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

• Explore and develop novel post-training paradigms for large language models using reinforcement learning.
• Explore and develop novel large language model post-training recipes using 3D data.
• Integrate large-scale simulation into large language model post-training.
• Explore various engineering disciplines and how to enable large language models to solve key problems in these domains.
