Job description
Tesla is looking for a Production Process Engineer to enhance process improvement and management for new production lines in advanced cell manufacturing for Tesla Energy Batteries. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle, from design to full production. The engineer will focus on data analysis, process documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a world-class manufacturing facility.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physical Science or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience as a process engineer in process development or improvement
- Ability to identify critical process parameters and apply statistics to process measurement and control
- Preferred experience in data collection and analysis in a high-volume automated manufacturing environment
- Proven understanding of BOMs, manufacturability, and cost reduction methodologies
- Applied knowledge of analytical tools such as MySQL, Python, R, JMP, Minitab, Tableau, Matlab, and Ignition software
- Prior experience with EV battery or Electrode manufacturing is a plus
Responsibilities
- Develop process and tool knowledge with deep data analysis to execute OEE improvement and cost reduction opportunities
- Ensure process documentation is current, including Manufacturing Instructions and Control Plans
- Utilize SPC data and tools to characterize equipment processes for process center-lining and operating limits
- Develop data-driven operational and financial decisions through predictive insights and process performance
- Champion continuous improvement projects to support lean manufacturing systems and maximize yield
- Generate and execute business improvement ideas for cost reduction and productivity enhancements
- Develop and manage Poke Yoke setup and changes within the Manufacturing Execution System
- Perform supporting activities for engineering and manufacturing, including Lean manufacturing activities and safety procedures
