The Electronic Design Engineering - Electronic Devices Internship at Tesla is designed for students pursuing degrees in engineering fields. Interns will engage in hands-on projects that involve hardware ownership, including the design and validation of circuit boards. The role emphasizes collaboration with various teams to ensure successful project outcomes. This internship provides an opportunity to grow technically and professionally while contributing to critical projects at Tesla.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Experience with analog and digital circuit design and PCBA.
• Experience with PCB component selection.
• Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Experience in MATLAB, Python, C/C++ or equivalent tools for modeling and analysis.
• Basics of serial communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, etc.).
• Experience using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators).

• Take ownership of hardware from specification to validation of circuit boards.
• Design electrical architecture, electronic circuits, and select processors.
• Collaborate with PCB layout, firmware, mechanical, program management, and validation teams.
• Document design requirements, calculations, and validation results thoroughly.
• Iterate rapidly as design requirements and vehicle features evolve over time.
