Job description
In this role, you will be part of the MTIA Software team, focusing on performance optimization within the graph compiler for AI workloads. You will collaborate with AI researchers and hardware design teams to enhance compiler strategies and ensure efficient utilization of MTIA hardware. Your work will involve designing compiler passes, profiling deep learning models, and developing solutions to improve performance. This position requires a strong understanding of compiler development and deep learning model execution.
Requirements
- Experience with C/C++ and Python programming
- Experience in compiler development, performance optimization, or accelerating deep learning models on hardware architectures
- Understanding of deep learning model execution and how compiler transformations affect end-to-end performance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and validate graph-level compiler optimization passes targeting performance within the PyTorch Inductor / FX IR compilation pipeline for MTIA
- Profile and analyze deep learning models to identify graph-level performance bottlenecks and develop compiler solutions to address them
- Develop and extend automatic fusion strategies to unlock peak hardware utilization across MTIA chip generations
- Implement memory optimizations to reduce latency and improve bandwidth utilization
- Build and improve performance analysis tooling to accelerate optimization iteration cycles
- Collaborate with hardware design teams on hardware-software co-design
- Ensure compiler optimizations are portable and scalable across MTIA chip generations
- Partner with AI researchers to co-design model architectures and compiler optimizations
Benefits
- Employees at Meta are often offered comprehensive benefits, including medical/dental/vision coverage, mental-health resources, family planning support (fertility, adoption, surrogacy), and caregiving programs. Financial benefits typically include a competitive retirement plan, equity awards, life insurance, and access to financial coaching and legal support. Time-off benefits commonly feature generous PTO and holidays, unlimited sick time, various paid leaves, flexible “Global Travel Days,” and a 30-day paid break every five years.
