Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end functional safety strategy for assigned future-vehicle platforms and features
  • Build and lead a small team of functional safety engineers
  • Define and drive system-level functional safety analyses and requirements
  • Partner with hardware, systems, AI platform, and firmware teams to validate interfaces and assumptions
  • Lead functional safety activities such as Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment, FMEA, and Safety Concept development
  • Establish functional safety validation strategies that combine simulation, lab, vehicle, and fleet evidence
  • Represent functional safety in architecture reviews, program forums, and executive discussions

Benefits

  • Employees at Tesla are often offered day-one coverage with multiple medical options (some at $0 paycheck cost), dental/vision, company HSA contributions, a 401(k) match, and equity programs. Most roles also include paid time off and holidays, family-building support, employee assistance, commuter and childcare benefits, and access to discounts and wellness programs.
