Job description
As a Staff Software Engineer in Test at Tesla, you will focus on building automation frameworks and tools to validate manufacturing systems. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with developers to create automation scripts in parallel with feature development. The role emphasizes driving automation across multiple applications and integrating with CI/CD pipelines. You will also be responsible for developing end-to-end test cases and ensuring the quality of data through automated scripts.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
- Solid programming experience using one or more of the languages: Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Strong understanding of REST and demonstrated experience with web services APIs testing/automation
- Strong experience in using open-source tools like Git, Stash, and Jenkins
- Knowledge in one or more automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium Webdriver, or Appium
- Proficient in designing and creating Automation Frameworks
- Experience working with J-Meter or any load testing tool
- Experience in Continuous Integration or Delivery and knowledge of Kubernetes and Jenkins pipelines
- Strong knowledge in SQL and back-end concepts
Responsibilities
- Drive automation across multiple applications and build reusable components for automation
- Develop automation strategy and end-to-end test cases across FX systems
- Integrate with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions
- Support daily releases and regression monitoring
- Develop BDD scenarios and automation test suites
- Work independently against aggressive deadlines
- Verify the quality of data using automated scripts
- Report testing status, milestones, and issues to project stakeholders
- Maintain keen attention to detail and identify inconsistencies and flaws
