Job description
The senior Engineering Program Manager will lead complex, cross-functional programs focused on Apple's Ecodesign compliance strategy. This role involves interpreting and influencing ecodesign regulations related to energy efficiency, repairability, and sustainability. The incumbent will work closely with various internal teams to shape regulatory landscapes and drive product design decisions. This position requires a strong understanding of sustainable engineering and regulatory compliance within the consumer electronics industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial/Systems Engineering, Sustainability Science, or a related technical discipline
- 8 to 10 years of experience in product environmental compliance, ecodesign, energy efficiency regulation, or a closely related field within consumer electronics
- Excellent program management skills
- Demonstrated expertise with global ecodesign regulations and frameworks
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency working with senior engineering leaders
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally
- Direct experience implementing or evaluating products for compliance to EU ecodesign regulations
- Experience with product energy testing or energy efficiency certification programs
- Familiarity with lifecycle assessment methodologies
- Working knowledge of consumer electronics hardware design and manufacturing processes
- Experience engaging with regulatory bodies or industry consortia
