Job description
The role is for a Hardware Engineer in Apple's Camera Technologies group, focusing on the design and development of high-performance compact camera modules. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to innovate camera hardware that enhances the photography experience for Apple products. This position requires leadership in camera hardware projects and a strong understanding of mechanical design principles. The team is dedicated to redefining customer expectations through cutting-edge camera technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Optical Science, Physics, or a related field with relevant industry experience.
- Mechanical design experience using CAD 3D molding and drafting package.
- MS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with basic structural and thermal Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Excellent understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis of high complexity and precision mechanical designs.
- Ability to design for plastic injection molding and metal stamping for mass production.
- Experience with research, selection, testing, and process ability of various materials.
- PCB design experience is a plus.
- Experience with magnetic simulation, actuators, and voice coil motors (VCM) for camera modules.
