Job description

The Streaming Media Engineering team at Apple is seeking a senior media application engineer to lead the design and implementation of AirPlay on third-party devices. This role involves collaborating with various design and engineering teams to develop new features and APIs for third-party partners. Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with proficiency in C/C++, Objective-C, and JavaScript.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with audio and video codecs such as H.264, HEVC, AAC, and AV1.
  • Experience with networking protocols.
  • Knowledge of adaptive streaming technologies such as HLS or DASH.
  • Experience using HTML5 based video playback technologies such as MSE and EME.
  • Experience with mobile devices, embedded devices, and media players.
