Job description
The Media Graphics & Compute Technologies (MGC) organization at Apple is looking for an expert software engineering manager to lead a team focused on audio conferencing technologies. This team is responsible for implementing software services for real-time audio and video conferencing, impacting products like FaceTime and HomeKit IP Cameras. The role requires strong management experience and a solid understanding of media systems and embedded software. The manager will help extend the Apple media experience to new devices and endpoints.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience as an engineering manager leading a software team.
- Experience with development in an embedded real-time environment using C, C++, or Objective-C.
- Knowledge of basic networking protocols and audio/video compression.
- Experience with low latency streaming media is highly desirable.
- Experience with software development in consumer voice and video conferencing platforms is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead an existing team responsible for audio conferencing aspects of various Apple products.
- Implement software services for real-time audio video conferencing and media distribution systems.
- Deliver intelligence features such as Live Voicemail and Call Translation.
- Extend the AVConference engine into new products and devices.
