The role is part of the Network Operations Center (NOC) team within Amazon Leo, which focuses on providing tier 1 support for software defined network services. The team is responsible for ensuring operational excellence in Amazon Leo's global satellite network. Candidates will engage in diagnosing and troubleshooting network issues while supporting the deployment of network capabilities. A strong emphasis is placed on collaboration with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.

• 6+ years of technical support experience
• Experience in scripting for automation, such as Python, and advanced SQL skills
• Knowledge of internet fundamentals and cloud computing concepts
• 6+ years of network engineering experience for large-scale networks
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience with satellite-based telecommunication networking
• Hands-on experience with satellite software defined networking technologies

• Respond to and escalate network-related incidents in a timely manner
• Support deployment and onboarding of network capabilities across geographic regions
• Monitor and investigate network performance to ensure maximum efficiency
• Build and enhance tools, develop best practices, and refine operational procedures
• Manage severity 2 and 3 tickets while attending on-call rotations
• Lead and mentor other Network Support Engineers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network, software, and security engineers
