The Applied Machine Learning Research Scientist will join the Accessibility team within the Human-Centered Machine Intelligence (HCMI) group at Apple. This team focuses on advancing machine learning technologies to address significant accessibility challenges for individuals with disabilities. The role involves collaborating with various teams to develop and ship products that enhance user experience for people of all abilities. Candidates should have a strong research background and a commitment to improving accessibility through innovative machine learning solutions.

• PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction or related field.
• Experienced researcher with depth in multimodal modeling, agentic systems, computer vision, speech, or foundation model post-training and evaluation.
• Publication and research record commensurate with seniority.
• Proven history of turning research contributions into tools, datasets, or products.
• Experience conducting research in accessibility or demonstrated commitment to accessibility.
• Experience with data collection or data curation.
• Experience with human-centered evaluation methods.
• Experience developing and shipping products that use machine learning.
