Job description
NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Process Architect to enhance the DriveOS software platform for autonomous vehicles. This role focuses on integrating automotive process engineering with practical judgment to ensure quality, safety, and cybersecurity in product development. The architect will work with a globally distributed team to create a coherent and scalable development model. The position requires a deep understanding of automotive standards and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, computer science, systems engineering, quality, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in automotive or other safety-critical product development, including process architecture, engineering quality, systems engineering, or technical program leadership.
- Deep understanding of Automotive SPICE and its application in engineering behavior and assessable evidence.
- Strong understanding of the software and systems development lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, implementation, verification, validation, configuration, change, and release management.
- Hands-on experience with automotive functional safety, cybersecurity, and AI/ML safety requirements, including ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, and ISO 8800.
- Proven track record in building risk-based tailoring and establishing quality gates in a complex, multi-variant product environment.
- Excellent written communication, facilitation, and influence skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead the canonical DriveOS process architecture, terminology, roles, and interfaces across various teams.
- Develop and govern a risk-based tailoring framework that defines variant applicability and acceptance criteria.
- Establish process maturity, release-readiness, and quality-gate criteria to surface risk early.
- Translate internal lifecycle expectations and industry standards into clear workflows and guidance for development teams.
- Partner with domain leads and program managers to align plans and evidence across product variants.
- Convert recurring defects and release takeaways into improvements to the common process and training.
- Drive process automation and AI-assisted workflows to reduce risk and cycle time while maintaining governance.
- Serve as an independent technical authority for process coherence and efficiency.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
