Job description

The Software Integration & Test (I&T) Engineer role at Amazon Leo for Government focuses on designing, developing, and owning software tooling and frameworks for integration testing in space-based and terrestrial applications. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to providing scalable solutions for government and international customers. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of software engineering and systems verification, influencing how testing is conducted. The role emphasizes collaboration across teams and the development of reusable test platforms to enhance verification processes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, development, and long-term health of test automation frameworks and orchestration platforms.
  • Architect, design, and validate software tooling required for verification and validation of complex hardware systems.
  • Define and drive tooling best practices across the lab engineering organization.
  • Analyze test data and engage cross-functionally with teammates, partners, suppliers, and customers.
  • Prepare reports documenting test results, performance metrics, and other KPIs.
  • Manage and drive to closure test anomalies, defects, and bugs.
  • Operate independently to identify gaps in test infrastructure and propose solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers on software development practices and test automation design patterns.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware teams, and external partners to ensure tooling supports all phases of integration and testing.
