The AIML Information Intelligence team is focused on developing innovative technologies in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing. This role involves conducting large-scale machine learning and deep learning research to enhance Open Domain Question Answering and Summarization. The team is responsible for creating advanced generative AI technologies that power various Apple products and services. Candidates will have the opportunity to influence product development and work with cutting-edge AI technologies.

• 10 years of work experience in machine learning, deep learning, or a related field.
• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Experience in modeling user behavior including personalization, online learning, and recommendation systems.
• Experience working with machine learning or LLM model development for various NLP tasks and RAG applications.
• At least 2 years of experience in state-of-the-art techniques related to LLM fine-tuning.
• At least 10 years of experience leading complex cross-functional projects.
• At least 10 years of experience with large-scale model training, optimization, and deployment.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

• Conduct large-scale machine learning and deep learning research and development.
• Develop sophisticated machine learning and large language models to understand user queries.
• Retrieve and rank relevant documents across multiple sources to provide direct answers.
• Research and develop state-of-the-art LLMs for summarizing personal data.
• Work with researchers and data scientists to fine-tune and evaluate domain-specific Large Language Models.
• Transfer cutting-edge research in generative AI to production-ready technologies.
