Job description
As an ASIC Design Engineer in the Pixel IP design team, you will play a crucial role in developing high-performance, power-efficient system-on-chips (SoCs) for Apple products. Your work will involve complex subsystem integration and implementation, ensuring that Apple devices can efficiently handle multimedia tasks. You will collaborate with various teams to optimize designs and contribute to the overall success of the Pixel IP design effort. This position requires a strong focus on both design and verification processes to deliver functional products to millions of customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Prior experience in IP/SoC design and integration at the chip or subsystem level.
- Knowledge of ASIC/FPGA design methodology, including logic synthesis and static timing analysis.
- Experience with multiple clock and reset domains in system design.
- Familiarity with common on-chip bus protocols such as AMBA.
- Experience in low-power design methodologies, including UPF power intent specification.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
- Strong collaboration skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
Responsibilities
- Write detailed micro-architectural and integration specifications.
- Design digital hardware by writing high-quality RTL with embedded assertions and cover points.
- Work with physical design teams to optimize timing, area, and power for designs in silicon.
- Ensure designs follow industry best practices for handling power, clock, and reset domains.
- Collaborate closely with design verification and formal verification teams to debug and verify functionality and performance.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
