Job description
The Solutions Engineer role at StreetLight Data focuses on supporting the Sales Team by helping clients understand and utilize Big Data analytics for transportation planning and engineering. This position requires expertise in transportation and data analysis, as well as a passion for improving transportation decisions. The engineer will work closely with clients to define technical solutions and deliver tailored presentations. Collaboration with various teams, including Product and Marketing, is essential to inform product development and create effective sales materials.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical or sales engineering role related to enterprise software or transportation analytics.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a similarly technical field.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to visualize data creatively.
- Intermediate to advanced geo-spatial analysis skills and experience using ArcGIS or QGIS.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Sales team to introduce StreetLight Data’s technology to prospective customers.
- Support Sales opportunities throughout the US and Canada.
- Define and implement technical solutions based on the StreetLight InSight® platform.
- Develop and deliver presentations and software demonstrations tailored to engage audiences.
- Cultivate relationships with technical staff at public agencies and engineering firms.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to inform the product roadmap.
- Guide the development of sales materials and prepare presentations for industry events.
- Participate in building an internal knowledge base of technical insights and market intelligence.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding account issues and financial status.
