Job description
The Cloud Hardware Development Engineer will oversee the entire lifecycle of storage and accelerator server platforms, from new product introduction to fleet health in production. This role involves collaborating with various engineering teams to design and implement solutions that meet customer requirements. The engineer will also focus on system reliability, proactively identifying issues and driving automation for fault detection and resolution. This position requires a deep technical understanding and a hands-on approach to solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- 3+ years of end-to-end product delivery experience.
- 5+ years of manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience in server or high-tech hardware platforms.
- Hands-on hardware debug experience across electrical, firmware, and mechanical domains.
- Experience with SMT assembly processes and PCB fabrication for HDI boards.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~25%).
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end NPI lifecycle for server platforms from architecture definition through launch.
- Lead technical solutions for complex server architectural challenges.
- Work with ODM partners to develop and manufacture server products at scale.
- Drive qualification milestones to ensure new platforms meet performance and reliability targets.
- Design predictive failure detection systems to identify hardware issues before customer impact.
- Debug complex system failures and perform root cause analysis across multiple layers.
- Collaborate with internal customers to ensure new server hardware meets requirements.
- Identify potential problems onboarding new servers into customer ecosystems.
