The ALG Mission Operations Engineer role at Amazon Leo focuses on ensuring the operational health and performance of spacecraft for government and enterprise customers. The team collaborates closely with various Amazon Leo teams to enhance communication capabilities through a satellite constellation. This position involves working with mission operations, ground software, and hardware teams to develop automated interfaces and tools. The engineer will also participate in mission rehearsals and support anomaly resolution activities.

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
• 3+ years of experience in spacecraft mission operations
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with automated testing of operational procedures using Hardware-In-The-Loop (HITL)
• Active or ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance
• Experience with Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) or Radio Frequency (RF) payloads
• Experience with performing formal Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) methods
• Experience with designing and implementing onboard Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR) mechanisms

• Plan, execute, and monitor spacecraft operations across all mission phases
• Develop and maintain comprehensive Concept Of Operations (CONOPS) knowledge of the spacecraft bus and all subsystems
• Design, plan, and participate in mission rehearsals
• Perform both on-console and back office support of spacecraft health assessment and telemetry analysis
• Design, develop, and maintain operational procedures and automation tools
• Conduct testing and validation in hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) environments
• Collaborate with subsystem subject matter experts and flight software developers to resolve on-orbit issues
• Participate in on-call operations rotation and support anomaly resolution activities
• Contribute to the improvement of ground system tools and automated testing of operational procedures
