Job description
Fidelity is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead the development of its in-house Workforce Management platform. This role involves building and managing the engineering organization while ensuring timely delivery of the platform. The VP will collaborate closely with various teams, including architecture and product stakeholders, to establish engineering standards and practices. The position requires a strong focus on service ownership, operational excellence, and creating a culture of accountability and technical excellence.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience in building enterprise scale SaaS.
- 7+ years of engineering leadership experience.
- Strong understanding in Workforce management for Contact Centers.
- Hands-on familiarity with constraint-based optimization or operations-research approaches to scheduling.
- Technical experience and proficiency in Java.
- Experience in development and operations of software in AWS.
- Proficiency with CI/CD toolchains and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience building or operating cloud-native, distributed systems, real-time applications, APIs, event-driven architecture, and scalable data services.
- Strong production ownership mindset with experience operating mission-critical services.
- Strong people leadership skills, including hiring and org design.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end engineering delivery for Fidelity’s WFM platform.
- Build and lead the WFM engineering organization by hiring, structuring, and managing engineering teams.
- Partner with architecture to translate the target architecture into engineering execution.
- Ensure WFM services are designed and operated with strong service ownership and clear SLOs.
- Establish engineering standards for cloud-native development and operational excellence.
- Report delivery status, risk, and trade-offs directly to senior leadership.
- Represent WFM engineering in cross-program planning with the Contact Center engineering teams.
- Create a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and customer obsession.
