Fidelity is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the design, build, and operation of its next-generation voice platform. This senior, hands-on role involves providing technical leadership within the Voice Platform team, focusing on real-time communications and telephony services. The successful candidate will shape the voice platform architecture and mentor engineers while ensuring high reliability and scalability. The role requires deep telecommunications expertise and the ability to develop software and platform capabilities consumable through APIs.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of software development experience with significant experience in voice, telephony, or real-time communications.
• 5+ years of hands-on production experience with FreeSWITCH and Kamailio.
• Deep understanding of FreeSWITCH architecture and hands-on experience configuring or integrating it in production systems.
• Expert-level understanding of voice protocols and familiarity with telecommunications security patterns.
• Strong software engineering skills in C, C++, Java, or Go.
• Experience deploying and operating voice workloads in cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.

• Contribute to voice services architecture and build the programmable voice platform for contact center interactions.
• Design and implement carrier-grade SIP signaling and media-processing capabilities using Kamailio and FreeSWITCH.
• Remain deeply hands-on, contributing to production code, configurations, and operational tooling.
• Develop reusable voice services and APIs that abstract underlying telephony capabilities.
• Build and optimize Kamailio routing logic and security controls.
• Design for high availability, geographic redundancy, and disaster recovery.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentoring, and participation in complex engineering work.
• Participate in production support and incident response for critical voice platform services.
