Job description
The Systems Engineer role within Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) team focuses on deploying advanced industrial automation technologies across North America. This position requires strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical, and network systems, as well as the ability to lead large-scale project planning and execution. The team collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure successful installations and troubleshooting of robotic systems. Candidates should be prepared for extensive travel, as the role involves working on-site at fulfillment centers and construction sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 1+ years of experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models.
- 1+ years of experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems.
- Understanding of data collection and reporting processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems and resolve escalations.
- Experience in network fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP.
- 1-3 years of experience in a field engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
- Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Oversee large scale project planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies.
- Support and guide installation of robotics, packaging, and sortation technologies at fulfillment centers.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, and internal customers.
- Manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management.
- Travel to project sites across North America to ensure alignment on program status.
- Lead teams of engineers on projects and provide technical oversight.
- Work on continuous improvement activities to enhance project outcomes.
