Job description
The Mechanical Controls Engineer will join the Data Center Engineering team at AWS, focusing on the operational integrity and reliability of critical data center infrastructure systems. This role involves collaboration with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure maximum uptime and availability of systems. Requirements
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
- Experience in commissioning.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain critical data center infrastructure including electrical, mechanical, and control systems to ensure maximum uptime and availability.
- Perform root cause analysis on infrastructure failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all data center critical systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and construction teams to support capacity delivery and infrastructure improvements.
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency operating procedures (EOPs) for infrastructure systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and safety across the data center portfolio.
- Support commissioning and validation activities for new infrastructure deployments and upgrades.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
