Ring is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join its Cloud Development Team, focused on creating innovative cloud services for home security. The role involves working on large-scale cloud systems that support millions of devices and enhancing the Ring infrastructure within the Amazon ecosystem. Candidates will collaborate with world-class engineers to solve complex distributed systems problems. The position emphasizes customer obsession and operational excellence in developing robust software solutions.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience

• Design and document distributed systems and microservices.
• Implement robust and maintainable code with clear and maintained documentation.
• Deliver customer value in an iterative fashion while working towards longer term systems.
• Communicate status and changes to the work they are responsible for and keep stakeholders informed.
• Implement test automation on all code through unit testing and integration testing.
• Work with internal and external teams to bring Ring technology to market.
• Maintain and enhance software frameworks for development.
