The Hardware Reliability Engineer at Amazon Devices will focus on ensuring the reliability of new and emerging electronic devices. This role involves collaboration with a cross-disciplinary team to define product specifications and testing methodologies. The engineer will be responsible for identifying and mitigating product risks while performing hands-on experimental design and execution. The position requires a strong understanding of reliability statistics and testing to influence product design for reliability.

• BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in reliability engineering.
• Experience in consumer, automotive, or robotics device reliability.
• Experience with hardware reliability testing such as vibration and shock testing.
• Experience in data analytics and statistical analysis, including lifetime analysis.
• Experience performing DFMEA and using quality and reliability tools.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as JMP, Reliasoft, or Python.
• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience.

• Engage with cross-disciplinary staff and outside partners to drive product definition.
• Identify and validate product risks and work with design teams to mitigate them.
• Define test methodology and coverage to assure product reliability.
• Provide hands-on experimental design and execution.
• Perform reliability prediction of failure mechanisms on products.
• Communicate product risks and drive improvements with data across teams.
